Paul Pressler

Allegations Summary:
Sexual Molestation of Young Boys
Alleged Victim Gender:

Paul Pressler is a retired Texas judge and political activist.  He served on Texas’s Texas 14th Circuit Court of Appeals in Houston and was an important figure in conservative politics in the 1970s through the 2000s.

In October 2017, a lawsuit was filed against Pressler alleging that he sexually abused a 14-year-old boy who was his bible study student. The alleged abuse began in the 1970s and continued into the 1980s. According the suit, Pressler told the boy that the sexual contact was a “God-sanctioned secret.”

Pressler has previously settled a suit from the same person in 2004 over a battery charge, although the details have not been made public.  The allegations supposedly emerged from a “suppressed memory” that was revealed during therapy while the accuser was in prison.
